Rudy's Story
Rudy has been in the investment management business for over 50 years. Throughout his career, he served as President and/or Chief Investment Officer for multiple multi-billion-dollar investment companies. He founded Fairway Asset Management in 2008 to provide his insights and guidance directly to individuals, charitable organizations, and corporations seeking a customized investment approach.
Early in his career, Rudy spent time as a principal at the economic research firm Laffer & Associates, founded by Dr. Art Laffer. Dr. Laffer is often considered the “father” of supply-side economics and the originator of the Laffer Curve, which is considered a fundamental theory of the relationship between tax rates and government revenue. Rudy’s participation in numerous research projects involving tax rate adjustments and the resulting economic behavior helped him develop his top-down economic perspective.
A graduate of Hastings College with a bachelor's degree in economics, Rudy later served as a member of the Hastings College Board and Investment Committee, helping guide the college toward long-term financial stability. He currently serves as a board member on the Point Loma Nazarene University Foundation Board, helping oversee foundation assets.
Rudy is an active member of his church community. Outside of work, he can often be found golfing at Omaha’s Happy Hollow Club and Cypress Lake Golf Club in Florida. He also boasts some impressive grilling skills. He enjoys spending time with his family, frequently visiting his grandchild in Utah.
Rudy remains actively involved in the economic analysis and asset allocation process for portfolio strategy at Fairway Asset Management. He is also directly involved in the selection of individual equity names for portfolios and oversees the fixed income details for portfolio implementation.
